Saidoong was a Goarese who killed five people and wounded seven others in Malayu, a village on Celebes, Dutch East Indies on July 27, 1862.

That day Saidoong, who had settled in the village Sambang Jawa, played a game called tonko at a small bar in kampong Malayu. Around 4 p.m. the Chinese bankholder, who uncovered the box containing two colours, had a mishap and dropped it, causing some of the gamblers to pounce on to the money, while Saidoong grabbed the box's lid and refused to hand it back.

The Chinese threatened to take him to the Jaksa (a native prosecutor), whereupon Saidoong drew his kris and stabbed him in the abdomen. The croupier jumped out of a window and dropped dead outside. Meanwhile Saidoong fatally stabbed three other people at the establishment and then went donwstairs, where he killed yet another person. Afterwards he fled to the main street towards Pintu-Duwa, wounding on his way seven people, who tried to subdue him, but eventually found himself surrounded by a crowd, which then stabbed him to death, as he refused to surrender his weapon.[1][2][3][4]
