On June 23, 1941 a Malay rubber tapper killed two people and wounded eleven others in Madong, a village near Tanjung Pinang, Dutch East Indies.

At about 2 p.m. that day the man hacked twelve Chinese children and a Chinese adult with a parang, killing two of the children, and leaving ten others seriously and one slightly injured. He was then overwhelmed by bystanders.[1][2]
