On March 11, 1935 a Senegalese soldier killed nine people and wounded two others in Beirut, French Mandate for Syria and the Lebanon.

The soldier, who was a member of the French colonial troops, first killed five of his comrades at the barracks and then ran through the streets, killing four people and wounding two others. Afterwards he escaped into the countryside, but was later captured about 12 kilometres from Beirut without any resistance.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
