In February 1950 a Japanese poisoned his wife and eight children in Japan. The man, who was desperate, because of financial difficulties, laced a sweet drink with cyanide and gave it to his family to drink, before they went to bed. He himself, his wife, and six of their children died, while a five-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl survived.[1]
